The Federal government offers Medicare Parts A and B to help offset the cost of medical care and hospitalization for people 65 years of age or older. Medicare Parts A and B do not cover all medical expenses you may incur. Medicare supplement insurance helps pay some of the healthcare costs that traditional Medicare doesn’t cover, such as co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles. These are costs you would otherwise pay out of your own pocket. Medicare supplement policies are regulated by state and federal laws, meaning benefits are generally the same regardless of insurer. The differences will include price and company reputation.
